My name is [Tyler](https://www.instagram.com/tylersuzukinelson). I'm a [coach](https://www.tylersuzukinelson.com/Now#Coach) and [software developer](https://www.tylersuzukinelson.com/Now#Senior+Software+Developer+%E2%80%93+Clio) based in [Vancouver](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vancouver). ### Welcome to Our Journey Through Japan This site is a celebration of an unforgettable journey to Japan in 2024, where I spent 3.5 weeks exploring the [Kansai region](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kansai_region) with Dinah (my mom) and [Simon](https://www.instagram.com/skwcheng). It's a tribute to the many incredible memories we created together--none of which would have been possible without their patience, planning, and openness. 💜 Thank you both for being the best travel companions I could ask for. I wouldn't have made this journey without you both. I build this site in a [Personal Knowledge Management (PKM)](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Personal_knowledge_management) style as a gift for them and as a way to commemorate our trip. It's also a way to share the experience with friends, family, and anyone curious about our adventure. _Note: When you see a blue block like the one below, it means I've directly copied text from something such as a poster or engraving to make it easier to read than in a photo._ > [!NOTE] A title would be here > This text is copied word-for-word from something we saw on our trip--a poster, engraving, etc. ### How to Explore This Site ![](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lE-icHSInYQ) There are many ways to navigate the site—choose your own adventure: - **Left-Side Menu:** Expand the categories (e.g. `Cities`, `Food`) to dive into specific topics. - **Tags:** Click tags (e.g. #food, #trail/kumano-kodo/nakahechi ) to see related pages. - **Links:** Follow links (e.g. [[Nakasendō (中山道)]], [[Kanazawa (金沢市)]]) to discover more details. - **Chronologically:** Start from day one of our trip, [[2024-09-10]], and follow the journey day-by-day. - **Right-Side Graph:** Use the interactive graph in the top-right of each page to see related pages and connections—click on any labelled circle to navigate. - **Search Bar:** Curious about something specific? Use the search bar in the top of the left-side menu. There's no single "right" way to explore this site--just wander, click, and enjoy the adventure! 😊 Thank you for joining us on this journey. I hope it inspires curiosity, nostalgia, or even your own travel plans. 😊 With gratitude, Tyler PS: I made this site using [Obsidian Publish](https://obsidian.md/publish).
