[Adashino Nenbutsu-ji](https://nenbutsuji.jp) is a temple in [[Kyōto (京都市)]]. We walked here from [[Saga-Arashiyama (嵯峨嵐山)]].

This temple is home to thousands of statues and stone images in memory of those who passed on without kin.

In the [Western Riverbank (西院の河原)](https://nenbutsuji.jp/#a-kawara), you can see thousands of these small [Buddha](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Buddha) statues lined up around a central [Buddha](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Buddha) and [pagoda](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pagoda).

At the back of the temple, there is a flight of stairs leading up through a bamboo grove to a hexagonal [jizo (地蔵)](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/K%E1%B9%A3itigarbha) overlooking a graveyard.
