Once over the Mikoshi-toge (elevation: ~550m), the trail descends into the watershed of the sacred Kumano River, following the Otonashi River to Inohana-oji. Otonashi River was an important site of cold-water purification rites. From here, the trail climbs slightly to [[Trails/Hosshinmon-oji (発心門王子)|Hosshinmon-oji]] and then continues down the ridge line to [[Attractions/Kumano Hongu Taisha (熊野本宮大社)|Kumano Hongu Taisha]]. [[Attractions/Oyunohara (大斎原)|Oyunohara]], the original location of [[Attractions/Kumano Hongu Taisha (熊野本宮大社)|Kumano Hongu Taisha]], is located at the confluence of the Otonashi and Kumano Rivers. > > Wakayama Prefecture ![[inohana-oji IMG_6585.png]] ![[inohana-oji IMG_6587.png]] ![[? inohana-oji IMG_6599.png]] ![[? inohana-oji IMG_6605b.png]] ![[inohana-oji IMG_7903.png]]
